TO THOSE FOR WHOM THE “ALARM” RINGS

It really looks like the “alarm” is finally ringing for all of us of the aluminium world.
After about two years of slumber finally the market is awakening, new finishing and extrusion production plants are being installed, emerging countries are becoming more important in the world as concerns production and also commercially and “finally” new revolutionary technologies are being proposed to the producers.
The Extrunews and Finishing news columns present a list of absolute novelties and technological updates that will surely be of interest for aluminium anodizers, coaters and extruders.
The two years that have passed from mid 2008 have been years of great economic and financial difficulties, also for the aluminium world, but some companies have taken advantage of the extra time, available due to production slow-downs, to motivate their research laboratories to develop new advanced technologies able to optimize the production processes.
Research has been finalized particularly to the achievement of production cost reduction, plant ecological impact improvement, operator safety, automation level increase, process hourly production increase, better quality of finished products.
Already during the Metef Exhibition that was held in Brescia in April there were evident signs that it was possible to overcome the recession by improving technologies; now the next international appointments of great impact that will anticipate the technological novelties of the near future are the Essen Exhibition, Germany, September 2010 (www.aluminium2010.com) and the 7th World Congress on Aluminium “Aluminium Two Thousand” that will take place in Bologna, Italy, in May 2011 and which is already considered by the aluminium world as “the EVENT of 2011”, which also coincides with the beginning of the second decade of the new millennium (www.aluminium2000.com).
All the economic/financial indicators show that 2011 will be the year of economic and productive rebirth: it is therefore necessary to be ready for the new challenges: about 90 speakers from the most important companies in the world of the aluminium field will present at Aluminium Two Thousand Congress next year the latest technologies that have been developed by the main suppliers of machines, mechanical technologies, chemistry and waste treatments. There will also be presentations on market trends concerning the use of aluminium in different fields (architecture, transports, industry, etc..) and in different countries in order to direct the operators towards the most attractive areas and fields.
If the recession is really behind us (as it seems!) then here are the new opportunities that lay in front of us and also in the “business Olympics” it is necessary to train ahead of time to avoid arriving last.

In the meantime we are waiting for you to be the first at “Aluminium Two Thousand 2011” Congress and Exhibition.

See you in Bologna, Italy – 17-21 May 2011
